Ancient Settlers in Mystical Ireland

Legends of tall, white skinned people with large round blue eyes and fair hair, appearing on Earth to teach and guide us, owe their source to the great Beings who came down from the Sun to establish new periods of civilization and culture. Their visits were most frequent from about 10,500BC to 500 BC and they often contrasted in looks to the ancient peoples in locations such as South America, Africa and India - especially the men, who sported white (or sometimes red) beards. Those who spent time with the Nordic and Celtic tribes probably did not stand out quite so markedly in their appearance, yet were still distinguishable as ‘foreigners’ by the robes in which they dressed.
Ireland has always been a mystical land, playing a significant role in humanity’s development in both the Visible and Intelligible Worlds. The Tuatha Dé Danann were the beings who descended from the Sun after the end of the last Ice Age, and the Sidhe were their hybrid descendants – “half mortal, half gods.” The Tuatha’s first leader was a female entity, considered to be a “goddess,” originally called Anu (genitive Anann), reconstructed as Danu, contributing the word ‘Danaan’ to their name. (Hindu mythology also has a goddess called Danu). The Old Irish word Tuath – plural Tuatha – means people/tribe. Dé means god or goddess/deity. So we have ‘people of the goddess’ then Danann, attesting that they were Danu’s followers. Irish bishop and King of Munster, Cormac mac Cuilennáin (9th -10th century AD), proclaimed Anu to be the “mother of the Irish gods.” We will come to the issue of names containing ‘AN’ later in this article.
When the first Gaels arrived in Ireland, they found the Tuatha De Danann, the people of the goddess Danu, already had control of the land … this race of beings is described as “gods and not gods” … Also in ‘The Book of the Dun Cow’ it says of wise men that: it seems likely to them that they [the Tuatha De Danann] came from heaven, on account of their intelligence and excellence of their knowledge.”[i]
When reading ancient documents, the words ‘heaven’ and ‘sun’ are often easily interchangeable. The Tuatha are said to have arrived in flying machines, landing on the mountains of Conmaicne Rein to the west side of Ireland, near modern-day Connacht. Their vehicles were sometimes surrounded by clouds of mist. These Sun people, The Tuatha Dé Danann, interbred with the ancient primitive humans in the area and their offspring became known as The Sidhe (Shee), also commonly referred to as ‘The People of The Mounds,’ because they lived in or under mounds and cairns. [Placenames in Ireland with the pre-nouns Lis, Rath, and Shee are associated with these people, for example: Lismore, Rathfarnham, Sheemore etc.] It might seem anomalous that beings who came from the Sun would prefer to take shelter from it and live underground, but it is to be noted that when they manifest physically, they have fair skin and hair colour and cannot maintain their manifestations for very long periods.
After the initial visits by air, the Tuatha constructed a few larger mounds around portals or Sun-gates, which allowed speedy travel between the Earth and the Sun via interdimensional wormholes. One of the best known of those still in existence is Newgrange, a kidney shaped mound covering an area of over one acre and surrounded by 97 kerbstones, some of which are richly decorated with megalithic art. The 19 metre long inner passage and cruciform chamber with corbelled roof are illuminated by a shaft of sunlight at the winter solstice sunrise. Built almost five and a half thousand years ago, it is said to be older than Stonehenge or the Pyramids (although alternative researchers suggest that the dates for all of these are way older than accepted).
The mission of the Solar Watchers was to civilize Ireland and other parts of ancient Britain, then protect and guide (but not control) the citizens down over the centuries. It was not actually part of their brief to interbreed with them but, just like their counterparts in Egypt, Assyria, Africa, India, Greece, Peru and Mexico, the temptation was too much. The result of crossing higher entities, who had light-bodies, with mortal hominids, yielded the dual-natured human race we are today. When Anu (Danu) returned to the Sun after successfully sowing the seeds of civilization and culture, a number of advanced Watchers ruled over ancient Ireland, notably Lugh, Morrigan and Aengus. Lugh has always been known by the Celts as a Sun-god, although he was actually a hybrid, as his father was one of the Tuatha Dé Danann while his mother was of a mortal race called the Fomorians. He was one of the fortunate offspring who was able to be transformed into a state which enabled him to visit the Sun and, eventually, settle back there. After leaving Earth for a few hundred years, Lugh returned to defend the Tuatha against his mother’s old tribe, killing the Fomorian King Balor and taking over as King himself.
Over time, the Tuatha Dé Danann withdrew to their Solar domain, and the Sidhe who remained on Earth retreated to a different dimension of space and time than our own, some still believed to be living under mounds, raths and cairns, and also in the land of "Tír na nÓg," an invisible island to the west of Ireland. (We will look further at ‘invisible’ places when we discuss the abodes of Masters in the next article). Their legacy continued as Tara became the seat of the High Kings of Celtic Ireland, with its five thousand year-old great Mound of the Hostages (Duma na nGiall), the standing stone of Lia Fáil, and Ireland's version of Stonehenge at the Hill of Tara in Co Meath.
Many of the Irish today will swear to the existence of other-worldly entities, including the higher dimensional dwellers of the mounds. New age believers still flock to sites such as Newgrange and Tara, to experience the unusual energies there.
What’s in a name?
While trying to avoid playing word games, it is instructive to look at the many instances where the name Anu has been associated with sky-beings and supernatural entities.
The inclusion of ‘AN’ in names often acted as an adjective meaning sky- or space- person. Most notable of course were the Anunnaki race at the time of the Sumerians, brought to prominence by the late Zechariah Sitchin. The Babylonian sky-god was called Anu and, along with Enki and Enlil, has been matched with the Hindu sky-god Brahma and his cohorts Vishnu and Shiva.
Similar names also crop up in Hebrew scriptures, e.g. Deuteronomy 2:10 which refers to the Anakim (King James version) or Anakites (New International version) as being very strong and tall people. Researchers have also drawn a connection with the Anasazi, said to be the ancestors of the Hopi people on the North American continent. Like the Anunnaki, the Anasazi were reputed to have come down to Earth from the sky. Moreover, the word Anunnaki also has meaning in the Hopi language, as their word for ant is "anu" and their word for friends is "naki" Thus, the Hopi Anu-naki, or “ant friends,” may have been the same as the Sumerian Annunaki—the beings who once came to Earth from the heavens. Some of the Solar beings who landed in North America seem to have been of ant-like appearance. (This was also seen in Egypt, where the Pharaoh Akhenaten’s body shape – especially head and abdomen – has been described as ant-like).
Finally, mention should also be made of Japan’s Ainu people. Even though the word was originally not written in English letters and pronunciations vary, the old stories associate them with Solar beings. Interestingly, it is claimed that the Ainu first visited Japan millennia ago: One of their Yukar Upopo, or legends, tells that "The Ainu lived in this place a hundred thousand years before the Children of the Sun came". Ainu men have abundant, wavy hair and often have long beards. The Ainu have broad faces, beetling eyebrows, and large sunken eyes, which are generally horizontal and of the so-called European type. Eyes of the Mongolian type are hardly found among them.[ii]
There is much more yet to be written about the tribes who came down from the Sun and established the nations of our planet.
