A year ago I posted about the Special connection of flowers to the Sun [See POST from Feb. 2016]. Sunflowers are very special because they actually face the Sun as it rises in the east and follow it across the sky until it sets in the west, in a process called heliotropism . And of course Solar Ancestor loves the fact that they are a visual represent the Sun itself.

Right now there is a magnificent display of fields of Sunflowers in bloom, right here in my state of Queensland, not too far from Brisbane, out on the Darling Downs. The ABC reports:
Tourists are flocking to Queensland's southern Darling Downs where vast, golden fields of sunflowers are proving the perfect subject for amateur and professional photographers. The crops have been in full bloom for several weeks, luring hundreds of visitors — many keen to get selfies with the flowers — to the region near the small town of Allora. The fields are most popular with tourists in the morning and late afternoon, when dozens of cars line the side of the road. Patinya, a tourist from Thailand, said she had never seen fields like them before. The comment by the Thai tourist was quite an accolade because, when I was there in Thailand last month, they were boasting their own beautiful fields of Sunflowers (see below).

Two years ago, a group of astronomers agreed that our Milky Way Galaxy is part of a ‘super-cluster.’ The Laniakea Supercluster is home to the Milky Way plus 100,000 other nearby galaxies. It was defined in September 2014, when a group of astronomers including R. Brent Tully of the University of Hawaii and Hélène Courtois of the University of Lyon published a new way of defining superclusters according to the relative velocities of galaxies. (It had formerly been said that we were part of the Virgo Supercluster, which is now an ‘appendage’). The name Laniakea means ‘immense heaven’ in Hawaiian, in honour of the Polynesian navigators who used knowledge of the heavens to navigate the Pacific Ocean.

Perhaps an even greater discovery is the fact that ‘something’ in the universe is ‘pulling’ our galaxy, the Milky Way, and other galaxies towards IT at an incredible speed of 22 million kilometres per hour. This unknown force which has been dubbed the ‘Great Attractor’ is pulling our galaxy and everything around it towards a particular point in space, located approximately 250 million light-years away. Basically, the Great Attractor is considered by researchers as a ‘gravitational anomaly’ located within the vicinity of the Hydra-Centaurus Supercluster at the center of the Laniakea Supercluster. Adding to the mystery is the fact that the Great Attractor happens to lie in a direction in the sky referred to as the ‘Zone of Avoidance’. Towards that direction, there is so much dust and gas that our satellites and telescopes can’t see very far in the visible spectrum.

The Laniakea consists of four subparts, and the entire supercluster consists of approximately 300 to 500 known galaxy clusters and groups. The real number may be much larger because some of these are traversing the Zone of Avoidance, making them essentially undetectable. This of course means it contains hundreds of billions of Suns like our own.

Superclusters are some of the universe's largest structures and have boundaries that are difficult to define, especially from the inside. The team used radio telescopes to map the motions of a large collection of local galaxies. This method is superior to merely mapping the location of matter, because it enables scientists to build a map of uncharted regions of the Universe. It relies on detecting the galaxies' influence, rather than seeing them directly. Unlike its constituent clusters, Laniakea is not gravitationally bound and is projected to be torn apart by dark energy. Moreover, the galaxies' motions reflect the distribution of all matter, not just that which is visible in our telescopes — including dark matter.

Discounting cosmic expansion, the researchers’ map shows flow lines down which galaxies creep under the effect of gravity in their local region. Based on this, the team defines the edge of a supercluster as the boundary at which these flow lines diverge. On one side of the line, galaxies flow towards one gravitational centre; beyond it, they flow towards another. It’s like a watershed, where it flows either to the left or right.

The Nazca Lines have been well documented, but the Mandala-like Sun-Cross petroglyph is extremely remote and sits atop an arid mountain plateau in Peru. It is a precisely formed star polygon made from two squares surrounding a circle - the large square measures 180 feet across and shares the same diameter and centre as the inner circle. Inside the grid are circles within circles and squares within squares. Several smaller squares, about 20 feet wide, have been etched in the landscape along with an assortment of strategically placed holes. It is similar to Mandala designs found in India and Tibet, and its symmetrical design is found in old sacred buildings such as Angkor Watt in Cambodia and Borobudawa in Indonesia.

Some people think it represents the “squaring of the circle,” and it has been noted that it matches the diagrams that author John Michell revealed in his “New Jerusalem Diagram,” based on measurements given in the Biblical Revelations 21. This area of Peru was ruled over by the Inca people, although there is much speculation as to who designed the Nazca Lines. My understanding is that their origin is an inter-dimensional intelligence, solar in nature.

There are numerous examples of solar pictographs & petroglyphs from ancient China, Egypt, Sumeria, Europe and South America. The world should be paying more heed to the symbolic messages that have been left for us, whether they be in stone or crop circles.
