In recent posts we have seen how the Sun is often connected with gold. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the history of the ancient peoples of South America.
It is considered that there were four main advanced civilizations of the ancient Americas: the Aztecs, Mayas, Incas and Muisca. The Muisca are the Chibcha-speaking people that dwelled in the central Andean highlands of present-day Colombia's Eastern Range. Their territory spanned an area of around 47,000 square kilometres - a region slightly larger than Switzerland - from the north of Boyacá to the Sumapaz Paramo, and from the summits of the Eastern Range to the Magdalena Valley. Scholars agree that the Muisca migrated to the Altiplano Cundiboyacense in the Formative stage (between 5500 and 1000 BC). The most ancient settlement of the highlands dates to 1270 BC.
The culture of the Muisca was centred around their two main deities:
Sué, (also Suá, Zuhé or Xué) - The Sun god. He is the father of the Muisca. His temple was in Suamox, the sacred city of the Sun. He was the most venerated god, especially by the Confederation of the Zaque, who was considered his descendant.
Chía - The Moon-goddess. Her temple was in what is today the municipality of Chía. She was widely worshipped by the Confederation of the Zipa (see below), who was considered to be her son.
They developed their own vigesimal (meaning ‘based on 20’) calendar, and knew exactly the timing of the summer solstice (June 21) - It was then the Day of Sué, the Sun god.
The Muisca used gemstones and gold as currency. Tunjos were small figures made of gold (or sometimes tumbaga, a gold-silver-copper alloy) picturing people, deities or animals. They were used as ritual offering figures in the sacred lakes and rivers of the Muisca, and to adorn the entrances of temples, shrines and graves.
The Zipa used to offer gold and other treasures to the Guatavita goddess. To do so, the Zipa covered himself with gold dust and washed it off in the lake while tossing gold trinkets into the waters. This tradition was well-known outside the Confederation, as far as the Caribbean Sea. The origin of the legend of El Dorado (‘The Golden One’) in the early 16th century may be located in the Muisca Confederation.
Footnote: Today the Muisca population has almost died out, although their descendants are still present in certain municipalities and districts. A census by the Ministry of Interior Affairs in 2005 showed a total of 14,051 Muisca persons in Colombia.

On a TV program this week it was speculated, once again, that visitors from other worlds might be visiting Earth to ‘steal’ our gold, and that the human race was genetically engineered several thousand years ago simply to work as gold miners – initially in Africa and South America. I asserted in a blog two years ago that our Solar Ancestors did not need our gold, as they had plenty of their own (see: http://www.solarancestors.com/blog/april-06th-2015 ).
Some have suggested that residents of other worlds needed to use gold in their atmosphere to reflect their Sun's rays and preserve their planet. To put a scientific slant on it, Derrick Pitts, Chief Astronomer and Planetarium Director for the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, has offered an explanation that describes gold as an important element for space exploration and astronomy. "Gold is an inert material, it doesn't react with anything," he said in an interview for the popular History channel television series Ancient Aliens. "It is a wonderful conductor of electricity… and… a perfect reflector of infrared energy. You can use gold blankets to protect spacecraft against the intense heat of a star or any sort of heat source."[1]
An interesting variation on the theme appears on the website http://mysteriousuniverse.org/2016/04/aliens-may-be-coming-to-earth-to-take-home-their-gold/ which speculates that gold could have hurtled into our solar system from deep space, landing on our planet millennia ago, and the residents of distant star systems now want it back.
Gold is Earth’s most precious metal: Economies have been based on it; romances have begun and ended over it; the computer industry depends on it; some religions hold it dear. There is evidence that ancient visitors may have actually brought gold with them, rather than come to take ours. One of the most famous other-worldly visitations occurred in Cusco, Peru. The Sun temple Qurikancha boasted a giant golden disc that some experts believe was a symbol of a gold-plated UFO that had landed in front of the Inca emperor Atahualpa, legendary for having direct contact with the ‘sky gods.’
As I wrote in another blog (http://www.solarancestor.com/weekly-bulletin/-our-ancient-visitors-attraction-to-metal-and-stones ): If you want to establish a connection with our Solar Ancestors, including The Watchers who are right beside us in another dimension, then it’s important to have some gold.

The Sun Cross, a representation of a circle around an equilateral cross, is also known as a Pagan Cross, Solar Cross, Wheel Cross, Woden's Cross, Dyeus Cross, Zeus Cross, Tengri Cross, Taranis Cross or, in Japan, as the Kutsuwa-mon (Kamon). In its most simplified form (see above left) it is known in Northern Europe as Odin’s Cross, after the Chief God of the Norse pantheon. It is sometimes used as an emblem by Asatruar, followers of the Norse religion. The word ‘cross’ itself comes from the Old Norse word: kros.
The Sun Cross is one of the oldest religious symbols in the world, appearing in Asian, American, European, and Indian religious art from the dawn of history. Carvings of it were found in 1980 on the bases of bronze-age burial urns at Southworth Hall Barrow, Croft, Cheshire, England - these urns date back to circa 1440 BC.
Different cultures have had their own names for their Sun deity, which unsurprisingly have been associated with the same symbol. Hence all the different names which represent the same magnificent Golden Sphere in the sky that provides heat and light, enabling things to grow. It represents the solar calendar- the movements of the Sun, marked by the solstices. Sometimes the equinoxes are marked as well, giving an eight armed wheel. The swastika, which is still used by Buddhists and was hijacked by Nazi Germany, is also a form of the Solar Cross. The Ancient Greeks reasoned that there were more things to life than just heat and light, and realised there must be an even greater God who had made all this possible – by the time of Plato they would refer to it as the ‘Sun behind the Sun.’
As we know, the Cross is considered these days to be quintessentially Christian. An interesting variation of the Solar Symbol is their ‘Ichthus Wheel,’ combining the symbolism of the fish with that of the Christ monogram (‘Chi-Rho’), or Labarum. One may also find an anchor in the design. This was accomplished by overlaying the Greek letters IXOYE (iota chi theta upsilon sigma) in such a way that the resulting symbol resembles a spoked wheel. The image of the wheel was already a fairly common emblem of Jupiter, and thus could be used without drawing undue attention to the outlawed faith in the early Christian Era.
I particularly like the emblem of the Etruscan God Ixion, who was depicted superimposed on a Solar Cross – see above right image (note the similarity to the Chi-Rho cross).

Ancient Vikings routinely crossed the North Atlantic without a magnetic compass and left their mark on lands as far away as Greenland, Newfoundland and Baffin Island. Based on an eleventh-century dial fragment artefact, found at Uunartoq in Greenland, it is widely accepted that they sailed along chosen latitudes using Sun Compasses.
To locate the Sun after Sunset, the Vikings used a pair of crystals known as Sunstones, which are calcite stones that produce patterns when they're exposed to the polarization of UV rays within Sunlight. When the crystals are held up to the sky, the orientation of these patterns cast within the stone can help pinpoint the position of the Sun below the horizon.
Once they had determined the position of the hidden Sun, they used a specially designed wooden slab called a shadow stick to simulate the shadow of the gnomon, based on the angle at which the hidden Sun would hit it. The location of the outer edge of that imaginary shadow could then have been used to determine their cardinal direction. A wide hole within the center of the disk served as a holding spot for this so-called central gnomon.
Researchers have estimated the plausible accuracy of this solar compass and found that it would have worked with only 4 degrees of error, which is better than other forms of celestial navigation, and comparable to modern magnetic pocket compasses. The compass would have functioned for as long as 50 minutes after Sunset around the spring equinox.
The findings are a testament to the sophistication of this group of people often remembered as heathens, and shed further light on the Vikings’ connection to, and observation of, the Sun.
