The following comes from the Oration of the Roman Emperor Julian in the fourth century.
The entire Oration runs for more than 10,000 words, so I am just quoting a few excerpts.

“What I am now about to say I consider to be of the greatest importance for all things ‘that breathe and move upon the earth’ and have a share in existence and a reasoning soul and intelligence, but above all others it is of importance to myself.  For I am a follower of King Helios.  And of this fact I possess within me, known to myself alone, proofs more certain than I can give.  But this at least I am permitted to say without sacrilege, that from my childhood an extraordinary longing for the rays of the god penetrated deep into my soul; and from my earliest years my mind was so completely swayed by the light that illumines the heavens that not only did I desire to gaze intently at the Sun, but whenever I walked abroad in the night season, when the firmament was clear and cloudless, I abandoned all else without exception and gave myself up to the beauties of the heavens…
 
“This divine and wholly beautiful universe, from the highest vault of heaven to the lowest limit of the earth, is held together by the continuous providence of the god, has existed from eternity ungenerated, is imperishable for all time to come, and is guarded immediately by nothing else than the Fifth Substance whose culmination is the beams of the Sun; and in the second and higher degree, so to speak, by the intelligible world; but in a still loftier sense it is guarded by the King of the whole universe, who is the centre of all things that exist.  He, therefore, whether it is right to call him the Supra-Intelligible, or the Idea of Being, and by Being I mean the whole intelligible region, or the One, since the One seems somehow to be prior to all the rest, or, to use Plato's name for him, the Good; at any rate this uncompounded cause of the whole reveals to all existence beauty, and perfection, and oneness, and irresistible power; and in virtue of the primal creative substance that abides in it, produced, as middle among the middle and intellectual, creative causes, Helios the most mighty god, proceeding from itself and in all things like unto itself."

Late last year I posted about Intelligent Plasma (http://www.solarancestor.com/weekly-bulletin/-intelligent-plasma), looking at intelligent life forms – light-beings or electric-beings – who use plasma balls for temporarily manifesting into our dimension for short periods of time. I was most interested to have been pointed to a post made earlier this year on the ‘Solar Wind’ Blog (see http://spiritsun.net/2016/02/solar-beings-solar-life/) titled ‘Solar Beings, Solar Life.’ If you haven’t already visited this site, I highly recommend it to you.

In that blog there is a quotation from Manly P. Hall in which he talks about solar beings whose appearance and composition is just like a miniature Sun. Although they are often experienced as being the size of a beach ball, it is pointed out that they can be as big as a house or as small as an atom. To my fellow followers of the Sun, I suggest contemplating and meditating on these intelligent spheres of light. I find their appearance very comforting and less intimidating that some humanoid figures. The ancient Egyptians and Sumerians often portrayed the winged solar disc - which may be compared to an ‘angelic sphere.’

An orb of radiant light will often bring illuminating messages - if you should experience one in your meditations or dreams, remain quiet and attentive. Much has been written about peoples’ experiences with them over the past century, and they will increasingly light our way into the future.

A team of researchers from the University of Adelaide, led by Dr. Gail Higginbottom, has established that the great ancient stone monuments in Britain really were constructed specifically in line with the movements of the Sun and Moon 5,000 years ago. They point out that nobody has ever before statistically determined that any stone circle was constructed with astronomical phenomena in mind. Previously, researchers supposed that it may be so, but there was no concrete evidence which could confirm this belief before the present study. Using innovative 2D and 3D technology to construct quantitative tests of the alignment patterns of the standing stones, the researchers found an impressive concentration of alignments towards the Sun and Moon at different times of their cycles.

The researchers examined some of the oldest great stone circles built in Scotland such as Callanish, on the Isle of Lewis, and Stenness, Isle of Orkney ─ both predating Stonehenge's standing stones by about 500 years. They found that at 50% of the sites, the northern horizon is relatively higher and closer than the southern and the summer solstice Sun rises out of the highest peak in the north. At the other 50% of sites, the southern horizon is higher and closer than the northern, with the winter solstice Sun rising out of these highest horizons. The ancients erected these huge stones very precisely within the landscape and in relation to the astronomy they knew. What technology they used is still not understood by mainstream science.

Those who created the megaliths chose surroundings that would have influenced the way the Sun and Moon were seen. They were able to depict the special time when the Moon appears at its most northerly position on the horizon, which only happens every 18.6 years and took place when the stone monuments were made. The publication by Dr. Higginbottom and her team confirmed that the ancient Britons connected the Earth to the Sun and Moon with their earliest standing stones, and that this practice continued in the same way for 2,000 years.

For the student of the Solar Sciences, many insights are to be gained from ancient allegories. The Supreme First Cause is seen in the 3-D physical plane as our Sun. The ancient Greeks taught that it has a counterpart, unobserved by the five human physical senses, which they called the Sun-behind-the-sun.

In olden times the name Empyrean was used as a name for the firmament, and in Christian literature, notably the Divine Comedy, for the dwelling-place of God, the Blessed, and celestial beings so divine they are made of pure light, and the source of all Light and creation. Empyrean, from the Medieval Latin empyreus, an adaptation of the Ancient Greek ἔμπυρος empyrus "in or on the fire (pyr)", properly Empyrean Heaven, is the place in the highest heaven, which in ancient cosmologies was said to be occupied by the element of fire (or aether in Aristotle's natural philosophy)[i].

Applying the mystical maxim, ‘As Above, So below,’ we know we have a Solar Heart within each of us. Our egoic sense of self is just a reflection of that central source of light.
