While attending the Cosmic Consciousness Conference at Uluru in Central Australia this month, I heard two speakers say basically the same thing in different ways: namely, that as human beings we exist on two separate bandwidths of reality at the same time. This is our duality.

The main challenge for most of us is that our consciousness is stuck in our physical brain during our waking hours, which is turn is subject to the chatter of unwanted thoughts that arise continuously. Meditation is the time-honoured method of ridding ourselves of mental clutter… however we do not want to rid ourselves of any part of our being that constitutes our real Self, including our Soul Personality or our real Ego (with a capital E – it is Latin for “I”).

One contemplation we can practice is visualizing our Overself as a Miniature Sun above us – as taught by New Age teachers concerning the five Universal chakras above our head, and as symbolized in Egyptian art by the Ancients with a solar sphere above their head.

As a duality, we also have our Solar Heart within us, connected to our Earth Spirit. We need to connect our Earth Star with our Soul Star while still alive, so that Soul and Spirit do not keep separating at death, as St Paul warned. Once they are reunited, we do not need to keep reincarnating if we don’t want to. Bring the Miniature Sun from above down to re-join the Spirit at the Heart of us.
