The two main heavenly bodies that we can see provide us with the perfect metaphor for the duality of our Higher Selves and our lower consciousness. The Sun is the source of Light and Life. The Moon is a reflector – a mirror. Our lower, mortal personality is a mirror of our Higher Self, but has come to believe that its ego is the real self. As we gradually awaken, we become aware that the Inner Light is the actual “I Am” and then our mission becomes to end the division of consciousness. When we finally identify ourselves with the Source of the Light, we no longer live in fear of the mirror being broken – as it inevitably will be.
