The atmospheric layers surrounding our planet Earth go from the lowest, known as the Troposphere, right up to the Exosphere, which extends from an altitude of about 700 km right up to about 10,000 km, where it merges into the solar wind. This is located too far above Earth for any meteorological phenomena to be possible, however the Aurora Borealis and Aurora Australis sometimes occur in the lower part of the Exosphere. It is way higher than aeroplanes fly, and on a different level to most orbiting satellites. It sits between Earth and Space.

In our posts over the past few weeks it has been indicated that some types of beings dwell in the Upper Air, in other dimensions where some entities are composed of the fifth element, Ether, while yet others consist of more subtle spiritual essence. This includes not only Angelic beings and Souls of the Departed and Ancestors, but also some of the Extra-Terrestrials. While most of us aspire to ascend to the higher realms, there are always certain entities who descend to our realm, often with the purpose of assisting us.

Accordingly, there can be a “cross-over” where both angels and aliens (and occasionally “ghosts”) make appearances in our dimension; sometimes there is interaction between them and humans. This can apply to Spheres and what we call UFOs or craft/vehicles. Spiritually it occurs most often in what are called “Thin Places” and many of these are connected by Earth energy lines.

There have been “places” spoken of throughout history that are not places in the physical sense, but actually exist on a higher plane. These include Hyperborea, Mount Meru, the abodes of Masters over Tibet and the Gobi Desert, and the mythical Twelve Lost Islands of Hawaii.      Ancient teachers, often called Deities, came and went from such places.

It is said that there are six physical spheres of the Earth system: the atmosphere (air), geosphere (land and solid earth), hydrosphere (water), cryosphere (ice), biosphere (life), and a subset of the biosphere: the anthroposphere (human life). Some add further non-physical divisions, such as a psychosphere, and of course there is Pierre Teilhard de Chardin’s Noosphere.

Two questions arise concerning these spheres: Do different kinds of entities, distinct form carbon-based human life forms, exist on all of these spheres? Secondly, if so, how do they co-exist in the same 3D spatial dimension without interfering with one another’s existence?

With regard to the first question, we refer to Plato who, in ancient times referred to the plane of the fifth element, The Ether. This is from his work Phaedo:
“And upon the Earth are animals and men, some in a middle region, others (elementals) dwelling about the air as we dwell about the sea; others in islands which the air flows round, near the continent; and in a word, the air is used by them as the water and the sea are by us, and the ether is to them what the air is to us.”

In addressing the second question, it is all a matter of vibration and frequency. All things in our universe are constantly in motion, vibrating. Even objects that appear to be stationary are in fact vibrating, oscillating, resonating, at various frequencies. Resonance is a type of motion, characterized by oscillation between two states. And ultimately all matter is just vibrations of various underlying fields.

The Earth and ionosphere generate frequencies that range from 0.01 hertz to 300 hertz, some of which are in the exact same frequency range as the one happening in the human brain, cardiovascular system, and autonomic nervous system. This fact is one way to explain how fluctuations in the Earth’s and Sun’s magnetic fields can influence us as human beings.

An interesting phenomenon occurs when different vibrating things/processes come into proximity: they will often start to vibrate together at the same frequency. They ‘sync up’ in what is described today as the phenomenon of spontaneous self-organization. There is a feedback loop between human beings and the planet’s energetic/magnetic spheres. The Earth’s magnetic fields are a carrier of biologically relevant information that connects all living systems.

As a microcosm, the human being has its own spheres and energy fields. Science has recently provided evidence of the reality the human aura. All of our bodies emit an electromagnetic field and – a fact that is not commonly realized - the heart emits the largest electromagnetic field of all the body’s major organs.

Each of us affects this global information field. Large numbers of people creating heart-coherent states of love, appreciation, care, and compassion can generate a more coherent field environment that benefits others, and helps off-set the current planetary discord and incoherence. We ought to be aware of our own unseen spheres, how they interconnect with others and interact with the Earth and Sun.

Many of us meditate and even more people in the world pray – some to their God, as they understand that concept to be – while others “send out messages to the Universe.” Here is a suggestion: engage the Heart / Inner Self and Soul / Overself before trying to get your message “out there.”

The human brain is a physical lump of matter that is part of your material body. When the body dies, so does the brain. To avoid the futility of trying to reach out to the Astral or Celestial planes directly from your brain-box, try attuning firstly with that part of yourself that is not made of matter. It is kind of like the old-fashioned way of going through the operator when placing your telephone call.

Some question why, if reincarnation is real, they cannot recall past lives. That is because they are relying on their physical brain, which only stores memories of this life. Those who train themselves to access the higher part of their being can then move on to access the higher realms, including what I call Inter-Dimensional (ID) worlds.

While we become increasingly fascinated by technology, including AI and Trans-humanism, the tried and true methods of meditation and prayer are (at least for now) still the best way to reconnect with your Overself  - and, from there, to the Stars.

In some previous blogs on this site, and particularly in our article, Each of Us Has a Star, we have considered that we are all guided by our own Star.

The following is an extract from observations made by Rudolph Steiner in 1906[1]:
“People at that time (i.e. in the first millennium BC) continuously looked toward the worlds above. This perspective existed everywhere, even among the Chaldean priests. The stars expressed soul and spirit to them; The stars were really the bodies of spirits. All of space was alive with spiritual beings. They spoke of the changelessness of the laws, according to which the stars moved, as they did about the will of the spirits whose bodies are the Sun and the planets. Human beings lived at that time by constantly directing their souls upward to the spirit. The external works performed by human beings on the Earth were primitive, while, on the other hand, the universe around them was permeated with the workings of the spirit to a high degree. We find there a highly spiritual view of the world alongside a primitive material culture.”

And the next quotation is taken from: Meditation Theme, by Rudolph Steiner.
The Field of Stars and Roses
My head bears the being
of the resting stars.
It thinks.
My breast harbours the life of the wandering stars. She feels.
My spirit lives and moves in the elements of earth. He wills.
All this am I.

Back on 7th October I posed the question: “Is the Universe a Sphere?” This week, while reading a non-fiction book called Crystal & Dragon which I am reviewing for a magazine, I came across some interesting observation about the naturally occurring incidences of spheres. Here is an excerpt.

“Xenophanes, who was the first philosopher to put forward the idea of a single, supreme deity, believed that He, or rather It, would have to be in the form of a sphere! It is not easy to see how one could test that particular hypothesis, but it is now felt that the cosmos itself, in the most general way, expresses a spherical symmetry.

“It is not only our own planet that is spherical of course, but also all other large heavenly bodies. The Sun and the Moon, in common with all other stars, planets and their accompanying moons, adopt the shape of minimum surface area in response to the power of an attractive force…” Later in the same paragraph, he continues, “Many microscopic creatures, by virtue of their size and density relative to their surroundings, are symmetrical about a point, and some, including bacteria, algae and volvox, are completely spherical, a condition that they achieve by being fairly indifferent to the force of gravity.”

The author concludes that chapter with the statement, “With our present, though very different, notions of symmetry we have almost come full circle, back to those ancient Greek ideas of armonia, of a great ordering harmony that operates between every part of the universe and the universe as a whole.”

A radiant or radiate crown, also known as a solar crown or Sun crown, is a crown, wreath, diadem, or other headgear symbolizing the Sun or more generally powers associated with the Sun. It typically takes the form of either a horned disc to represent the Sun, or a curved band of points to represent rays.

The Sun King, King Louis XIV who ruled France from the 17th into the 18th century, adopted the Sun insignia to evoke how his position as the King of France was truly ordained as God’s representative in life.

In the iconography of ancient Egypt, the solar crown was taken as a disc framed by the horns of a ram or cow. It was worn by deities such as Horus in his solar or hawk-headed form, Hathor, and Isis, and was also worn by some pharaohs.

In Ptolemaic Egypt, the solar crown could also be a radiate diadem, modelled after the type worn by Alexander the Great (as identified with the Sun god Helios) in art from the mid-2nd century BC onward. It was perhaps influenced by contact with the Shunga Empire, and a Greco-Bactrian example was depicted at the great stupa of Bharhut. The first ruler of Egypt to wear this version of a solar crown was Ptolemy III Euergetes (246–222 BC).

In the Roman Empire, the solar crown was worn by Roman emperors in association with the cult of Sol Invictus, influenced also by radiant depictions of Alexander. The solar crown worn by Constantine, the first emperor to convert to Christianity, was reinterpreted as representing the "Holy Nails".

Usually when we see a cross with a circle around it, we think of the Celtic Cross. The sacred religious Solar Cross, or circle cross, is a symbol of the Sun and fire and was adopted by many ancient cultures in various forms. The cross itself symbolizes the cardinal directions and the sacred fire, while the circle part of it symbolizes the Sun.

In North America the origin of the Cross in a Circle Symbol derives from the ancient culture of Mound Builders in Mississippi. Some of the Native Indian tribes still retain elements of the Mississippian culture and the symbolism of the Cross in the circle - the simple shape is easy to depict on any raw materials such as rock, stone, wood, shell and animal hides.

Although we live in a 3D world, most of the time we are seeing things in 2D. Looking at the two diagrams above helps to expand our perception. First, on the left,  we see the Solar Cross in the usual 2D way, then as the sphere starts to rotate, in the image above right, we see that there is more to the lines that we originally perceived as a 2D cross.

The circles drawn around the sphere on the right are special kinds of curves called 'great circles', which divide the sphere into equal sections. Also known as an orthodrome, a great circle is the intersection of the sphere and a plane that passes through the centre point of the sphere.

So next time you see an image of a cross somewhere, imagine that you might be seeing just the 2D face of a greater dimensional reality behind it. By expanding your imagination even further you might get a glimpse of a 4D reality.

Images of ancient Egyptians may seem as if they have just a 2D disc above their head and the representation of the Aten is often called a Sun-disc. In reality it is a sphere, or an orb. Do you have an orb above your head? Could it be connected to higher dimensions?

The three-dimensional universe is made of material, so is it bound by a shape, or is it infinite? One scientific website, Space.com considers the possibility that, “the universe is closed and finite, though it has no end, and has a spherical shape.” But, like most scientific thinkers today, they still believe in the “big bang” theory.

There is an excellent article in the current issue of Nexus Magazine (Vol.25 No.6) by David Rowland titled “A big bang never happened.” I agree with him when he says, “This is mythology, not science.” Scientists who endorse the “big bang” theory state that the universe is finite, yet always expanding. Mr Rowland asserts that it is not expanding, but it is infinite.

So here we have several possibilities, all apparent paradoxes. Space.com says it is finite but has no end; most scientists think it is finite but expanding; Mr Rowland thinks it is infinite, but static. So, I will throw in another paradox into the mix: Whether it is expanding or static, finite or infinite, I think it has a shape, because it is clearly physical/material. And I think that shape is spherical.

Hindu texts describe the universe as a cosmic egg, while Aristotle believed it was made up of a series of concentric spheres. Here are two quotes from Universetoday.com: “A positively-curved Universe would look somewhat like a four-dimensional sphere. This type of Universe would be finite in space, but with no discernible edge.” And, if it was shaped like “A soccer ball (it) would look much like a spherical Universe, but one with a very particular signature – a sort of hall of mirrors imprinted on the cosmic microwave background.”

If it is indeed spherical, consider whether it may have a centre – in particular, a gigantic Central Sun, like the ones at the centres of galaxies – see the above for an infrared image of our neighbouring Andromeda Galaxy, Credited to NASA/JPL-Caltech/Univ. of Ariz (Courtesy of http://www.astronet.ru/db/msg/1208803)
