Many archaeological sites that have been discovered (or re-discovered) around the world over the past 100 years (1915 to 2015) help to shed light on the hidden mysteries of higher deities, our inner selves and ‘other worlds’ (or other dimensions), and our connections to them. Significant finds of the past century (some of them ‘accidental’) are:

Tomb of Tutankhamun (son of Akhenaten) by Howard Carter, 1922
Nazca Lines by pilots in the 1920s
Nag Hammadi Manuscripts by Muhammed and Khalifah 'Ali, 1945
Dead Sea Scrolls at Qumran (by many people) from 1947 to 1956
Lost City of Vilcabamba by Gene Savoy, 1964
(Hiram Bingham had found Macchu Picchu, 1911, but Vilcabamba was the Lost City of the Inca)
Terracotta Warriors at Xian, China by various farmers, 1974
House of David Stelae in Israel by Avraham Biran, 1993
Gobekli Tepe in Anatolia, Turkey, by Klaus Schmidt, 1994
Largest Rock ever carved by ancient humans at Baalbek (once called City of the Sun), 2014

Some believe it is not just coincidence that ancient sites and artifacts are being discovered or revealed to us. We are about to plunge into a period of accelerated discovery, due mainly to new technologies available to us.
Some of the exciting finds currently being explored by new hi-tech methods include:
Nefertiti’s Tomb, using Infra-red scan, by Nicholas Reeves.
Ancient Atlantis at Santorini using sonar scans of the sea bed & microscopic landscape analysis, by Martin Pepper.
Hall of Records beneath the Sphinx using seismic equipment and ground-penetrating radar.
A 2,000-year-old Roman gold mining network in Spain using LiDAR attached to a Drone by Javier Fernández Lozano…

There are many more secret explorations going on around the world. Rest assured it will not take another hundred years before a bigger picture emerges. We are set to learn a lot in the next one to two decades.

City of the Sun

12/23/2015

The ancient cultures had names for the Sun disc: Aten (Egyptian), Helios (Greek) and Sol (Roman), which differed from the names of the Solar deities, which were Ra, Apollo and Mithra. Recently there has been renewed discussion about the portrayal of Jesus as belonging to the lineage of Solar deities. I am from a Christian background and will not contribute to any endeavour to detract from the mission of Jesus Christ. I have observed the ways in which Christianity (the religion, not the Christ) borrowed from the Solar tradition (especially that of Mithra).

The latest controversy springs from a book about a Lost Gospel based on an ancient vellum manuscript called The Chronicle of Pseudo-Zacharias Rhetor, archived in the rare books section of the British Library in London. It was acquired in 1847 from a trader who claimed it came from the St. Macarius Monastery in Egypt. At least 1,450 years old, the chronicle is written in Syriac, a later form of Aramaic, the language that Jesus spoke. The Lost Gospel is a chapter from that book, called the Story of Joseph and Aseneth. This story chronicles the union of the Biblical Joseph and Aseneth, daughter of the Egyptian priest of On (Heliopolis). [Ref Genesis 41:45] This form of typology, in which Old Testament personages are said to represent or foreshadow the emergence of New Testament figures, was commonly adopted by Gnostic writers. Aseneth and Joseph are described in language more appropriate to Mary Magdalene and Jesus, and engage in rituals that have nothing to do with biblical Judaism and far more to do with Christianity. The connection, if correct, connects them to the Sun and its deities.

The city of On (a Hebrew name) was also known by the Greek name of Heliopolis, ‘The City of the Sun.’ It was established by the Solar deity Ra, and was located 10 miles from modern Cairo. The Helipolitan community of Ra peaked during the Fifth Dynasty (2480–2340 BC) and continued well into the third century BC. The ‘High Priest of On’ held the title of ‘Greatest of Seers.’ When Joseph married into this family, he joined a social class befitting a national leader. (For more about this lost Gospel, see: See article: http://www.timesofisrael.com/lost-gospel-depicts-a-married-political-activist-rabbi-jesus/)

The assumption that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were foreshadowed by Joseph and Aseneth not only connects them to the City of the Sun, but also to all the various Solar images (see a couple below) relating to this ancient couple. After the Pharaoh appointed Joseph as Vizier, the second most powerful man in Egypt, Joseph and Aseneth came to be seen as representatives of Helios and Artemis (Sun and Moon). Another theory suggests that Joseph is the historical character Amenhotep-Huy, Vizier of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, father of the monotheistic Pharaoh Akhenaten. The Healing Power of the Sun

I came across a brilliant article written by Marcus Julian Felicetti, which can be read in full at http://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-5999/10-Healing-Benefits-of-the-Sun.html. Following is just an excerpt from it:
Atapa Snana is the yogic phrase for the healing science of Sun bathing. We live in a modern world that is bombarded with paranoid messages about how dangerous the Sun is. We should remember that the ancient yogis and many other cultures knew how to use the Sun to heal all kinds of illnesses, and bring about radiant health. In the West we also have a history of using Sunlight therapy that dates back to the ancient Greeks. It was called heliosis. Today, the name for Sunlight therapy is heliotherapy. We evolved as a human race … under the warmth and love of the Sun.

We are making a whole generation Vitamin D deficient with fear of the Sun.
Ultra Violet light is just one frequency of light; there are eight others – infrared, and the seven spectrums of visible light. Each one has its own unique healing power!
Here are 10 benefits of getting a moderate amount of Sun exposure:
1. Sunlight and whole foods send breast cancer into remission. The American physician Dr. Zane Kime used sunbathing and nutrition to cure his patients. Even in terminal cases, Dr. Kime was able to completely reverse the metastasized cancer.
2. The Sun’s light kills bad bacteria. The German solders after WWI knew of the discoveries that had been made in 1903 by the Nobel Prize winner, Niels Finsen. They used Sunlight to disinfect and heal wounds.
3. Sunlight has a beneficial effect on skin disorders, such as psoriasis, acne, eczema and fungal infections of the skin.
4. Sunlight lowers cholesterol. The Sun converts high cholesterol in the blood into steroid hormones and the sex hormones we need for reproduction. In the absence of Sunlight, the opposite happens; substances convert to cholesterol.
5. The Sun’s rays lower blood pressure. Even a single exposure significantly lowers blood pressure in individuals with high blood pressure…
6. Sunlight penetrates deep into the skin to cleanse the blood and blood vessels. Medical literature published in Europe showed that people with atherosclerosis (hardened arteries) improved with Sun exposure.
7. Sunlight increases oxygen content in human blood. And, it also enhances the body’s capacity to deliver oxygen to the tissues; very similar to the effects of exercise. The Sun has a great effect on stamina, fitness and muscular development.
8. Sunlight builds the immune system. The white blood cells, which increase with Sun exposure, are called lymphocytes, and these play a major role in defending the body against infections.
9. Regular Sunlight exposure increases the growth and height of children, especially babies. Many cultures throughout history have recognized this fact. Studies have shown the amount of Sun exposure in the first few months has an effect on how tall the person grows.
10. Sunlight can cure depression. The noon Sunshine can deliver 100,000 lux. When we sit in offices for the best part of the day, out of the Sun, under neon and artificial lights (150-600 lux), we are depriving ourselves of the illumination of nature. Sunlight deprivation can cause a condition called seasonal affective disorder (SAD), a form of depression…

SOHO Celebrates 20 Years of Sun-Gazing

12/8/2015

We applaud the NASA/ESA Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO), which has marked its 20th anniversary this week. Originally planned for two-year mission, the project has now almost gone strong for two full solar-cycles, making the project longest Sun watching satellite to this day. While watching the Sun's activity, SOHO has produced some discoveries about how the Sun works. According to ESA, its chief discoveries include finding complicated gas currents below the Sun's visible surface, as well as tracking frequent changes in magnetic fields.

When SOHO launched on December 2, 1995, it travelled 1 million miles from the Earth towards the Sun to study our parent star's interior, solar wind and mysterious heating of solar atmosphere. Today, 20 years later and after numerous extension to the mission, scientists in both NASA and ESA have gained invaluable knowledge about the Sun and it's behaviour. Now SOHO serves the objective of monitoring space weather and predicting solar storms. The Sun’s energy keeps Earthlings alive, but the concept of space weather wasn't understood very well when SOHO was launched. Now, space weather is being defined as events or conditions stemming from the Sun that affect any space-borne or ground-based technology, therefore influencing human life and endeavours. Thanks to SOHO’s coronagraph, a type of camera that uses a solid disk to block out the bright face of the Sun to better observe the comparatively faint solar atmosphere, known as the corona, we now know that giant clouds that burst off the Sun called coronal mass ejections, or CMEs, are a major piece of the space weather puzzle. Though two space-based coronagraphs preceded the one on SOHO, neither provided the same quantity or quality of observations.
